Good morning!

First off, we’re wishing a happy 1st birthday to our Mystery Readers Special Interest Group (SIG). Many thanks to Phyllis Demko and Karen Hoffman for their leadership in launching this SIG at last year’s Fall Kick-Off and Open House and to the SIG members who have shaped the group this year!

We’re starting off the Fall Semester in a big way with a full house for today’s Fall Kick-Off Lecture “Communicating Science Effectively: Where Do We Start?” with Dr. Jory Weintraub. We’re looking forward to seeing you there and back in the classrooms next week.

Today, we have a lot of great stuff for you:

We’re recognizing our Program Development Committee and Subcommittee members who are responsible for planning September courses and lectures and we’re introducing you to two instructors with upcoming classes. In “Beyond the classroom” we’re announcing our newest multi-day trip. And in “OLLI is a community” we’re sharing tips for making friends at OLLI this year.

Don’t miss scrolling down to the parking alerts section….It’s good to go ahead and get back into the habit of checking for heavy parking days, and today we have specific parking information that’s pertinent to the first week of classes.

Enjoy!

Eliza
