Memory Research Study

Lifelong learner raises hand during class

Participate in a research study on memory at NC State!

NC State’s Daily Well-Being in Adulthood Lab is seeking OLLI members who may want to participate in a new study examining engagement in cognitive tasks across different ability levels. Ideal candidates are individuals aged 60+ who are concerned about their memory OR individuals that have a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment. 

Participation in this study requires 2-3 hours of your time and includes two lab visits, each visit lasting approximately 90 minutes. The Daily Well-Being in Adulthood Lab is located on NC State’s Centennial campus. The lab visits will be scheduled one week apart.

Participants will be asked to:

  • Complete a series of activities on an iPad while their heart rate and blood pressure are recorded
  • Walk on a treadmill for up to 5 minutes
  • Ride a recumbent bicycle for up to 15 minutes 


*** participants will wear a suit over their clothes that measures movement, for approximately 30 minutes 

Participants will be given $120 of Amazon credit for their time.
