Parking

Visitor Parking

  • The McKimmon Center has over 700 free visitor parking spaces that are outlined in green
  • Here is a link to the McKimmon Center Parking Map.
  • As a conference and training canter, the McKimmon Center occasionally experiences Heavy Parking days. These days will be communicated in a variety of ways to the affected OLLI participants. Parking attendants are normally on site to assist with parking.

Handicapped Parking

  • There are 9 handicapped spaces located on the side of the building closest to Western Boulevard.
  • If you have a handicapped placard and need to park closer, please call the OLLI office at 919-515-5782.
  • Note: The verbiage on the handicapped signs can be misleading. You do NOT need a McKimmon guest pass or permit to park in a handicapped spot. You do need to have a handicapped placard. Click here for a picture of the signage.
  • There are 2 handicapped spaces located in the Employee Only lot next to the OLLI classrooms. A special permit is required to use these spots. Please fill out this Parking Permit Request form to request a permit from the OLLI office. Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis once you receive the permit.

Getting to the OLLI Classrooms

The majority of OLLI courses are held at the McKimmon Center (1101 Gorman Street)  in room 11/12 or room 13.

The OLLI classrooms are located on the side of the building opposite Western Blvd (near the solar house).

If the course is not being held at the McKimmon Center, the location will say OLLI offsite.

Some of the larger lectures will be held in one of the larger McKimmon Center  conference rooms. The location for those lectures will be listed as TBA in the course catalog and an email will  be sent to all participants prior to the lecture with a room location.

Most study trips meet in the lobby at the front of the McKimmon Center before boarding a bus to take them to their destination.
