A Message from the Director

Summer sunset on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Good morning!

It’s impossible to see the news coming out of Western North Carolina and not feel horrified by the destruction and isolation that the storm created for those who live within the path that Hurricane Helene carved. Our thoughts are with all people who were impacted by the storm, but particularly the staff and members at OLLI at UNC-Asheville, OLLI at Furman and OLLI at Clemson and the friends and family of our members who were impacted.

We’re grateful for safety and health here in the Triangle and the privilege of bringing you very normal news from our OLLI today. This week, we’re recognizing and celebrating the hard work of the Program Development Committee and Subcommittee members who developed October’s courses and lectures, highlighting your two opportunities for multi-day travel with OLLI in 2025, and sharing opportunities for OLLI members to get involved with programs produced by NC State Libraries and Shelton Leadership Center. Also, check out the announcements section. We know OLLI members have very busy lives, and we have put together instructions for how you can easily verify your second-term OLLI courses and lectures to make sure they are on your calendar. Enjoy!

Warmly,

Eliza
